How to remove pictures from auto backup folder in gallery
« on: January 16, 2014, 05:59:48 AM »
I can't remove any pictures in the auto backup folder in the gallery app. There is plenty of info on line about how to do it in previous versions of Android, but on the nexus 5,  gallery is not even listed in the apps under settings. I have disabled any further syncing to G+, but there's no link to Picasa. Please help!

Thanks, but I already tried them. I have deleted the photos from Picasa and Google plus,  but they're still In my gallery app. There seems to be no way to access the gallery app on a nexus 5.is there an app that will do it? Still frustrated!

If they are indeed deleted from Google servers then simply clear data and cache for the Gallery app from Apps settings.

Settings> Apps> All> Gallery> Clear data.

This should clear any cached images in the Gallery application, if not then double check they are definitely deleted from Google's servers.

Rb_stern, I had the same exact problem with my Nexus 5! I tried just about everything to delete that stupid album and this is the only thing that I found to be successful.

First, go to Settings --> Accounts --> Google, and disable Pictures sync.

Then, go to Settings --> Apps --> All, and scroll down until you find gallery. When you find it select "force stop" - then press - "clear data". It will delete the auto backup album and keep all of your regular albums.
